AH&HL Jan 2024 Wrap

A L and H L Review January 2024

Monthly reviews recap blog post activity on “A Lesbian And Her Laptop,” personal updates, and what’s coming up for the blog next month. So long January!

This January on A Lesbian And Her Laptop

I’m excited to announce that I put out three posts this month to start off 2024! The first post was an overview of AL&HL’s wrap on 2023 and what to expect in 2024. A post on lesbian scrapbooking in the middle of the month continued my Lesbian Hobby series. Finally, I published a LGBTQIA book review for Inverse Cowboy by Alicia Roth Weigel, a must-read for intersex allies.

January had around 3,800 views and over 2,500 visitors. AL&HL still has over 500 subscribers, which is awesome! This is a slight bump up from December’s stats. And with actual dedication, I suspect the numbers will keep growing back to the blog’s peak era.

A reminder that the best way to help keep this blog running is by sending $3 to my ko-fi page. This truly helps me focus on creating regular content for AH&HL, which I am otherwise doing for free. [Me, always begging for money.] [I still have thousands in student loans to pay back.]

Personal updates from Jess, your AL&HL blogger

Not much to update here since December, unfortunately. My wife’s visa is still in limbo (expected). I am planning to travel back to her this spring, in what I hope is my last long visit to England (with the expectation that she will be moving before summer 2025, fingers crossed).

I watched a video on plant-based vs. omnivore diets and it made me consider veganism again, so I’m consciously being more plant-based for a while again. I’m also following a proper strength-training plan for the first time in my life, very exciting. (Although, I am publishing this on leg day. Leg day sucked a lot.)

I read 8 books this month! (That might be a record.) I hemmed some shirts with my sewing machine and most of them turned out very bad. I need a lot more practice. My cat, Eloise, is still as fabulous as ever.

Coming up this February on A Lesbian And Her Laptop

For February, I’ll be posting an update to my HIMMGF series. This chapter of the series will chronicle the first 10 days of my trip to England back in 2021, in which I brought a friend to Ipswich with me. I will also be releasing at least one LGBTQIA book review. I’ll also begin working on the next Lesbian Hobby post, but I haven’t picked the hobby yet. I think it may be knitting, but I need to learn how to knit first. We’ll see!

If you enjoyed any of the blog posts during January, consider making a one-time $3 donation to my Ko-Fi. And remember to share your favorite posts to get more people reading!
